Along the Shore of Lake Ontario

My first stop on this epic journey through the heart of the American continent (sorry - I'm in a prosaic mood this morning) was my old hometown of Ontario, NY. I was there for a family gathering to remember and say goodbye to my sister Elisabeth, who sadly passed away last December. So the visit was most definitely bittersweet at best.

Liz was a child of this lovely region, and would have enjoyed these pictures, all taken along Lake Road in Ontario and the adjacent town of Webster.

From Webster Park, looking northwest towards Rochester and beyond.

A picture here in Winter would be an entirely different story.

There will always be apple trees along the lake.

Red barns are as numerous as the apple trees.
